Andy Walker predicts Rangers clash v Motherwell, highlights senior player as someone to rely on
Sky Sports Scottish football pundit Andy Walker has given his prediction for the upcoming Rangers clash v Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday lunchtime.
Writing in his column on the Sky Sports website, Walker has tipped the Gers to bounce back from the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock with a narrow 2-1 victory over the Steelmen.
His tip for key player is senior centre-back Bruno Alves, who he thinks the Gers “must rely on his experience to get back to winning ways”.
The match is a must-win for the Light Blues in the battle for second place in the Scottish Premiership table, as they sit only two points ahead of third placed Aberdeen, who have a game in hand.
Football Insider verdict
Gers boss Graeme Murty will be looking for a reaction from his players after the performance in the defeat to Kilmarnock, which was one of the worst of the season. With two league defeats in their last two matches, Murty’s side have to get back on track at Fir Park, or they will risk getting bogged down in the battle for second place in the league table. The good news for the Gers is that they are at just the right venue to get the required three points, as Motherwell haven’t defeated the Light Blues at Fir Park since December 2002, so Murty’s side should be favourites to get the win which would be a much needed confidence boost.
