Sky Sports pundit: This is what can wreck Celtic treble dream
By Matt Farr
Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker reckons Aberdeen will cause Celtic problems in their upcoming Scottish Cup Final.
Celtic moved within just 90 minutes of a domestic treble with a comfortable 2-0 win over rivals Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi final at Hampden on Sunday, but Walker believes Aberdeen can match them in the final.
The Hoops have already cemented both the Scottish Premiership and League Cup titles this season, but are looking to complete their haul with victory over Aberdeen, whilst maintaining their unbeaten record.
They are unbeaten in domestic competitions this season, having dropped just three points, but Walker insists that Aberdeen can tarnish their perfect record.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun, he said: “Make no mistake, Aberdeen are capable of beating Celtic. This is going to be a terrific Cup Final.

“Aberdeen have shown in the last few years that in any 90 minutes they can match Celtic. They can score goals, they can compete physically, there’s certainly no lack of energy in Aberdeen’s side.
“From middle to front, they’re as good as any. I’m really looking forward to the final. The two best teams in Scotland going head-to-head. I think it’s got all the makings of a cracking game of football.”
The former Celtic striker also delivered a scathing verdict on Rangers’ display during their semi final defeat, branding Pedro Caixinha’s side as ‘passive’ and ‘ineffective.’
Callum McGregor had given Celtic an early lead over Rangers with a composed finish from the edge of the area, before Scott Sinclair doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the second half.
Rangers rarely threatened to fire themselves back into the game, with Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon serving largely as a spectator.
Although the two Old Firm rivals go head to head once more in a week’s time, Celtic will now be turning their attention towards their cup final with Aberdeen.
Celtic have beaten Aberdeen in each of their four meetings in all competitions this season, including in the Scottish League Cup Final back in November.
In other Celtic news, Brendan Rodgers has delivered a rave review of this technically brilliant Celtic ace following the win over Rangers.
