‘Ange Postecoglou explodes at Arsenal after controversial Tottenham incident’

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was spotted “going mad” on the touchline at Arsenal during controversy in the North London derby defeat, according to Michael Dawson.

The Gunners came from behind to defeat arch-rivals Spurs 2-1, thanks to a Dominic Solanke own goal and a Leandro Trossard winner.

However, the equalising goal was clouded in controversy after officials failed to spot that the ball had gone out for a goal kick rather than a corner.

Former Premier League defender Dawson, speaking on Sky Sports News, described Postecoglou’s frustration on the touchline. He said (8:41 PM): “Ooh! You need to come back to me! I shouldn’t have been a corner in the first place.

“Yeah the corner came down the left-hand side, it’s good play from Trossard, and Pedro Porro goes to block it. He blocks it, it looks like it goes straight out of play but when you see it it rebounds off Trossard and it should have been a goal kick.

“So should the goal have stood? No it shouldn’t, but Arsenal aren’t bothered. Ange Postecoglou is going mad on the touchline. He is not happy and rightly so.”

The Australian coach was rightfully furious at the officials for missing a critical decision that ultimately led to Arsenal’s equalising goal. Such moments can significantly alter the outcome of a match, and Postecoglou’s frustration was justified.

However, pressure is mounting on the manager, as his team now sits in 13th place following yet another loss to a top side. The poor league form is becoming a growing concern among supporters.

Tottenham
Spurs are backing Ange Postecoglou despite pressure to sack him.

Postecoglou previously survived a wave of criticism and calls for his sacking after a crushing defeat to Liverpool in December. Fans questioned whether the former Celtic boss was the right man for the job, but the club’s hierarchy stood firm in their support for him.

Their backing was evident in the January signing of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, a move that won fans over after his impressive display in the League Cup semi-final against the Reds. The shot-stopper’s performance offered a glimmer of hope during an otherwise difficult campaign.

Despite this, Tottenham’s league form must improve. Remaining in mid-table for much longer could see the pressure intensify on Postecoglou, as fans expect a swift turnaround to compete for a European position.
