Ange Postecoglou has ‘big’ problem after what pundit has seen at Celtic
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic squad players have “struggled” when thrown into “big” games in recent weeks.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers right-back insisted Ange Postecoglou “knows what he is doing” when it comes to team selection.
The Hoops boss named heavily changed sides for the Celts’ last two fixtures since wrapping up the Premiership title at Tynecastle on 7 May.
The Hoops were beaten 3-0 by Rangers on 13 May playing with almost a fully second string back line, following injuries to regular first teamers Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston.
The Scottish champions drew 2-2 with St Mirren at Parkhead on Saturday (20 May) once again made changes to his defence.
When asked if testing out different lineups is the right call for the Hoops, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think so.
“He knows what he is doing. The league is done, it is wrapped up, why would you not give your squad an opportunity to go and play games?
“You want them to be in tip top physical form for the final that is coming up. I think they will be comfortable winners but they still need to go out and do the business on the pitch, so it will be his strongest team.
“He has a great opportunity to put some of these players into the environment of a big game and they have struggled.“

The Hoops have already wrapped up the league and League Cup titles with a Scottish Cup final still to contest next month.
The Parkhead club also have two Premiership fixtures remaining against Hibernian and Aberdeen with both opponents fighting for third spot and a European place.
