Ange Postecoglou told to green light Celtic deal after source’s ‘brilliant’ reveal – pundit

The only way for Ange Postecoglou to end speculation over his Celtic future is to sign a new deal.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Australian’s future.

Sources told Football Insider on 24 September that Celtic are keen to tie Postecoglu down to an improved long-term deal amid Premier League interest.

The Scotsman reported the same day that Postecoglou could be lined up by the Foxes to replace Rodgers at the King Power Stadium, should he lose his job.

Kenny insists these links will not go away until a new deal is signed.

“There has been talk ever since he joined the club, in fairness,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“First it was whether he would be able to keep his job and now it’s about being linked to the Premier League. It must be brilliant for him on a personal level.

“He knows how much interest there actually is in his services. I don’t think this will go away until he signs a new deal.

“If he commits to new, like, 4-year deal then that ends the speculation for a little while. I’m not sure what else the club can do.”

Postecoglu has enhanced his reputation during his 14 months at Celtic, where he steered the club to the Scottish Premiership title at the first attempt.

The Glasgow giants also won the Scottish League Cup during his first campaign and have also returned to the Champions League group stage.
