Anthony Elanga and James Trafford react to Tino Livramento amid Man City latest

Tino Livramento caught the attention of several Premier League stars as the Newcastle United defender continues to be linked with Man City.

The 22-year-old’s disciplinary record in the backline is near-flawless, and while he is not as exciting going forward, he has quickly become integral to Eddie Howe’s set-up at St James’ Park.

Performances for the Magpies have seen the full-back attract plenty of interest, though Newcastle are unlikely to even accept £165million if Pep Guardiola comes knocking this summer.

Football Insider understands that Newcastle are doing everything to keep Livramento, with the England Under-21s international joining Lewis Hall, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, and Dan Burn in defence.

Taking to Instagram (16 July), Livramento shared a selection of images as the defender enjoyed time away from St James’ Park, simply captioned with a sun emoji, with the post gaining plenty of traction.

Teammates Lewis Hall, Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Elanga, and Joe Willock all liked the post, as did James Trafford, whom Newcastle are ready to bid £40million for this summer, Football Insider understands.

Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala also liked the player’s post, with Elanga replying with a goat emoji, Chelsea’s Levi Colwill commenting: “Beans”, and Marseille’s new CJ Egan-Riley saying: “My brother”.

Football Insider verdict

The Magpies have already missed out on the likes of Jarell Quansah and Joao Pedro, and will likely miss out on Marc Guehi, who Liverpool are still likely to sign this summer, Football Insider understands.

While Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Anthony Gordon currently appear settled at St James’ Park, there is still time for business to be done, especially with Alexander Isak.

Football Insider understands that Liverpool had launched a £130million bid for Isak, though with a lot more likely needed to make that deal happen, the Reds have turned to Hugo Ekitike.

The Frenchman is of interest to the Magpies, though recent updates would suggest that the talented Eintracht Frankfurt star only has eyes for Anfield this summer.

With £55million already spent on Elanga [BBC Sport], the team’s forward line is looking rather dangerous ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, swapping places with the departing Callum Wilson.

Howe could have an incredibly difficult challenge on his hands next season if any of the remaining stars depart St James’ Park, with their potential replacements also going elsewhere.
