Anthony Gordon is the only Everton player showing 'fight' after what 'I've seen' - pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Anthony Gordon is the only Everton player showing enough “fight” and “fearlessness” in their relegation battle.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland star suggested the rest of the Toffees’ dressing room may be looking at one another rather than taking responsibility themselves.

Gordon, 21, has been a regular for Everton this season, with 26 Premier League appearances under his belt.

The Merseyside outfit currently sit 17th in the table, one point outside the relegation zone.

Hutton slammed Frank Lampard’s men for a lack of “fighters” within the squad.

He insisted Gordon was the only one showing what is needed to get out of the relegation fight this season.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Are there enough fighters within the team?

“He’s the one guy I’ve watched and seen recently, Anthony Gordon, that does play without fear.

“That fear of being relegated or whatever, it doesn’t sit with him. He just goes out and plays his game. I think you do need that within your squad.

“I’ve been there. Sometimes you’re sitting in the dressing room, on a losing run. You’re looking about the changing room and saying: ‘Who’s going to get us out of this?’

“If everybody’s looking at everyone and saying the same thing, you’re struggling. It can be a difficult situation to be in.”

Gordon has scored three goals and contributed a further two assists in his league appearances this season.

He has started eight of Everton’s last nine Premier League matches but was on the bench against West Ham.
