Anthony Martial backed to reignite Man United career amid ‘scary’ claim – pundit

Anthony Martial could revive his Man United career under Eric ten Hag’s management.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about whether the attacker needs to leave Old Trafford this summer.

On 30 May The Athletic reported Man United will listen to offers for Martial, 26, this summer.

Man United

He is out of contract in the summer of 2023 but the Red Devils have the option to extend that deal for another 12 months.

Martial joined Sevilla in January but after a promising start, he failed to make the matchday squad in five of the Spanish side’s last six La Liga games.

However, Kenny claims there is a way back for the France international who can be “world-class” on his day.

“With Anthony Martial, There is a quality player in there,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Man United have quality players. That’s the scary thing. It’s just the way the club has been run recently, it’s not been right.

“What is to say the new manager can’t get a tune out of Martial? I hope he does.

“Man United don’t need to go out and spend stupid money, just get these players playing.

“When they are at it they are world-class.”

Man United fans are growing tired

Martial has made 269 appearances for Man United since joining the club from Monaco in January 2015.

These outings have yielded 79 goals and 50 assists.
