Antonee Robinson and Sasa Lukic react to Calvin Bassey announcement at Fulham

Antonee Robinson and Sasa Lukic have reacted to the latest announcement at Fulham concerning star defender Calvin Bassey.

Supporters at Craven Cottage were left disappointed by another bottom-half finish in the Premier League table, having also missed a semi-final spot at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup thanks to Crystal Palace.

Despite this, Football Insider understands that Fulham’s alarm bells are ringing over Marco Silva’s future, with several clubs keeping an eye on the manager, though not Tottenham anymore.

The 47-year-old is well known for his ambition when it comes to joining bigger clubs, and the Cottagers could be worried about losing him ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

For now, however, it is a time of celebration for the players and supporters, with relaxation in between, with Bassey the latest player to win an award at Craven Cottage.

Calvin Bassey crowned Fulham’s Player of the Season

Taking to Instagram (13 June), the official club account wrote: “A super season for our Super Eagle,” with a graphic announcing Bassey as Fulham’s Player of the Season.

Antonee Robinson and Sasa Lukic both liked the post, joined by Leeds United‘s Darko Gyabi and Birmingham City’s Scott Wright.

Fulham to keep building despite Marco Silva links

Football Insider verdict

Despite eventually finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, losing 2-0 to Man City on the final day, fans at Craven Cottage have been excited about the project being built.

Of course, losing Silva this summer would feel much like a setback for the club, but there is no doubt that the London club would be able to find a new leading figure to take them into battle.

There had been rumours circling of a sensational Joao Palhinha return to Fulham, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider in April that internal talks have taken place.

These are the types of transfers that the Cottagers need to be looking into if they are to move up the Premier League table, and it appears that Fulham are keen to do more business with Arsenal.

Bassey and Joachim Anderson in the centre of defence certainly give the team a good basis to build on, and the likes of Raul Jimenez, Harry Wilson, and Andreas Pereira lead the attack.

It remains to be seen how much business the hierarchy will sanction over the coming weeks, but if they want Silva to stay in London, he needs to be backed for every move he wants.
