Antonio Conte is 'using PSG' to secure Tottenham summer 'war chest' - expert
Antonio Conte could be using PSG’s interest in him to bolster his transfer budget at Tottenham.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Italian’s future.
The Times’ Gary Jacob reported on Monday (24 April), Conte, 52, is interested in replacing Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.
The former Spurs boss is set to be sacked by the French club despite clinching the Ligue 1 title at the weekend.
Kenny claims Conte may only be showing interest in PSG in an effort to secure further backing from Spurs as he looks to rebuild the squad.
“It would surprise me if he has made himself available because he’s under contract,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You would like to think he wouldn’t do that to Tottenham. He’s already there and he shouldn’t be doing that.
“There has been a lot of talk about whether Conte will be backed in the summer and I think that’s key.
“This could force Tottenham into backing Conte even more now, he could use this situation to his advantage, he’s clever like that.
“If Tottenham now give him an absolute war chest, why would he go? That’s exactly what he wants.
Conte took over at Tottenham from Nuno Espirito Santo at the beginning of November 2021.
They are in with a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League with five games to play, including the visit of Arsenal who currently occupy fourth, two points above Spurs.
