Antonio Conte ‘pulling his hair out’ after Tottenham star sent for scan – pundit

Antonio Conte will be “pulling his hair out” while watching his Tottenham players at the Wortld Cup.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest out of Qatar.

Kane, 29, caused caused major concerns for Tottenham and England fans after he was sent for a scan on his ankle after he was forced off during the 6-2 win over Iran on 21 November.

However, Kane was fit to start against the USA (25 November) and Wales (29 November) though he failed to find the back of the net.

McManus insists Conte is fearing the worst regarding the fitness of his players.

“Kane’s the big one for Conte, he has to get through this World Cup unscathed,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“He can’t get a big injury because they can’t replace him, Tottenham don’t have the players to do that. The World Cup has come at a really bad time for a lot of managers.

“I think Spurs have more players than most at the World Cup and they have a few who could go deep into the competition.

“Obviously there is Kane, then Richarlison and Brazil look good. You have Romero with Argentina as well and tey are really important players.

“It’s a lot of games in a very short space of time so injuries are more likely to occur, that’s a fact.

“Conte will be pulling his hiar out, we know what he is like.

But he understands that his players need to do this and he will have to just deal with the consequences if there are any.”
