Antony and Gabriel Magalhaes respond to Matheus Cunha’s passionate message
Antony and Gabriel Magalhaes joined Brazilian players across the Premier League in responding to Matheus Cunha’s message while he’s away on international duty.
The Brazilian forward officially completed his move to Old Trafford following an impressive season at Wolves, with Man United activating Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause.
United are pushing to bolster their attacking options after a dismal campaign that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and fall to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
Despite their struggles, the club are still managing to attract top talent. Alongside Cunha’s arrival, Football Insider revealed Man United are also close to agreeing a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
As for Cunha, with the move now confirmed, his attention has shifted to the international stage as he joins up with the Brazil squad before the summer break.

Matheus Cunha celebrates Brazil’s World Cup qualification as Man United
Players across the globe have been on international duty this week, and Brazil have now officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup following a narrow 1-0 victory over Paraguay.
Cunha was in high spirits after the result and shared a passionate message with fans, saying: “Classified, home and with our people. Great game by all and a great ending to the season.”
His post received a wave of support from fellow Premier League stars, including Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes, Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, and new Manchester United teammate Antony.
Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti secured his first win in charge thanks to a decisive strike from Vinicius Jr, with the result ensuring Brazil’s qualification for the tournament.
As for Cunha, he now heads into a well-earned break, with pre-season training set to begin in just over a month, giving him time to recover and reset after a long campaign.
However, questions remain around how he will adapt at United. Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett has suggested Man United’s sports psychologists may need to work closely with Cunha to manage his temperament on the pitch.
The forward was booked four times last season and was sent off in Wolves’ FA Cup defeat to Bournemouth in March, following a clash with Milos Kerkez.
Antony in talks over Erik ten Hag reunion as Man United exit looms

While Antony has remained active on social media by recently engaging with Cunha’s post, he may not be lining up alongside his compatriot next season.
Bayer Leverkusen are the latest club linked with a move for Antony, and with Erik ten Hag now in charge, a reunion could be on the table.
Football Insider reported in May that Manchester United have no plans to give Antony another chance at Old Trafford and that they are expected to offload him during the summer window.
But only time will tell whether the club can recoup a significant transfer fee
