Antony sends message to Man United teammate after shock medical news

Man United winger Antony has taken to social media to pay tribute to Noussair Mazraoui after the defender’s recent setback.

Mazraoui, 26, withdrew from the Morocco national team after medical tests diagnosed him with a rare heart condition, meaning he will be out until November.

The right-back has started all of Man United’s seven Premier League games so far, providing an assist for Amad Diallo in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

Speaking ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic, Morocco manager Walid Regragui claimed the condition is “not dangerous”.

Regragui said, “Noussair Mazraoui is not suffering from a dangerous illness, Inshallah (God Willing), he will be with us in the next camp in November.”

Antony, 24, and Mazraoui played at Dutch giants Ajax under current Man United manager Erik ten Hag, before being reunited over the summer following the Moroccan’s move from Bayern Munich.

Antony wishes Man United teammate Noussair Mazraoui the best

Antony has played just 27 Premier League minutes so far this season as Man United sit in 14th with only two wins, two draws, and three defeats in their first seven league games.

The right-winger’s only start came in their 7-0 League Cup demolition of Barnsley, scoring a penalty in the 35th minute.

The Brazillian took to Instagram to wish his friend and teammate a speedy recovery after his latest medical news.

Ten Hag’s side are winless in their last five games across all competitions as Dutchman continues to cling on to his job at Old Trafford.

They host Brentford after the international break, hoping to kick-start their season following a dismal start.
