Archie Gray, Liam Cooper react to Crysencio Summerville amid West Ham struggles
Crysencio Summerville gained the attention of his former Leeds United teammates on social media as the winger’s fitness struggles continue at West Ham.
The 23-year-old Dutchman arrived at the London Stadium on a £25million deal last summer [BBC Sport], but after sustaining a hamstring injury against Aston Villa in January, he has been sidelined since.
He has made just 22 appearances across all competitions before being sidelined, notching just one goal and two assists, piling more pressure on Graham Potter as the new West Ham manager.
Niclas Fullkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo both struggled with injuries last term, with the biggest concern coming from Michail Antonio, who recently made his dramatic return to the pitch for Jamaica.
With club friendlies set to begin next month, Hammers fans will be hoping for Summerville’s return to the pitch, and the winger has taken to social media with a new update.

West Ham supporters await Crysencio Summerville’s return
Taking to Instagram (27 June), Summerville wrote: “I remember the days I prayed, for the things I have today. ‘Thank you, God’,” gaining attention from his former teammates.
Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, and Archie Gray all liked the post, with Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson commenting: “Top shottaaaa”.
Graham Potter requires drastic changes at the London Stadium
Football Insider verdict
Potter’s reign has gotten off to a terrible start, winning just five of his first 19 games in charge, and leading the Hammers to 14th in the Premier League table, just four spots from relegation.
West Ham fans were calling for Potter to be sacked after the 1-1 draw with Tottenham in May, but it feels unfair to judge the former Brighton and Chelsea figure until he has a full summer transfer window.
The current squad is not good enough to adapt to his style of play, and was not good enough to fulfil Julen Lopetegui’s wishes and ambitions either, and multiple players need replacing.

Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez, Kostas Mavropanos, and Luis Guilherme are all seen as deadweight, with Mohammed Kudus being heavily linked with a London Stadium exit this summer.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle United are undecided about signing Kudus, with Eddie Howe having doubts over the 24-year-old’s consistency.
His sale would certainly help with the purchasing of multiple other much-needed stars this summer, especially if Potter is to turn around his fortunes in East London.
