Archie Gray sends five-word message after confirmed Tottenham exit news
Ange Postecoglou has been sent a short message by Archie Gray as the fallout from his Tottenham Hotspur exit continues.
Gray‘s first season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has largely been a positive one after his £40million move from Leeds United last summer, with 46 total appearances made in all competitions and 35 starts.
Tottenham‘s injury crisis had a dire effect on their domestic campaign as Postecoglou‘s threadbare side limped to a 17th-placed Premier League finish, with priority given to their progress in the Europa League.
However, lengthy periods on the sidelines for the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven saw Gray given plenty of minutes in the backline, though Postecoglou’s handling of him has come under fire.

Gray thanks Postecoglou for Tottenham tenure in new message
Gray’s consistent form and versatility have made him a player who will be central to Spurs’ long-term future, and Football Insider revealed in April that any chance of a return to Leeds has been ruled out.
Tottenham’s future won’t involve Postecoglou, however, after the Australian’s dismissal was confirmed in an announcement by the club on Friday, which has led to an outpouring of messages from the Spurs squad.
James Maddison, Richarlison and skipper Son Heung-min have all sent messages to thank Postecoglou for his period in charge, and Gray has now taken to social media with a message for the 59-year-old.
In an Instagram story post (7 June), Gray simply said: “Thank you for everything gaffer”.

Thomas Frank appointment to be good news for Gray at Tottenham
Spurs spent a long time weighing up Postecoglou’s future amid a season to forget in the league, and Tottenham’s recruitment department has been in stasis since March as all attention turned to the Europa League.
After a decision was finally made by Levy and Spurs’ hierarchy, Football Insider revealed on 7 June that Tottenham are “closing in” on Brentford’s Thomas Frank as their new manager as talks accelerate.
Frank wanted Gray at Brentford last summer before Spurs swooped in to sign the then-Leeds starlet, and the Dane’s appointment at Tottenham could result in increased game-time for Gray next season in his preferred position of central midfield.
