Archie Gray to be catapulted straight into Tottenham XI – expert
Archie Gray is a “great signing” for Tottenham and he will be catapulted straight into the starting XI.
That’s the view of former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is well connected at his former club and was speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Gray played 52 times for Leeds last season after establishing himself as a regular under Daniel Farke, and Robinson believes he’s a “very clever footballer.”
Considering his ability to play various roles as a midfielder and as a full-back, the teenager provides Ange Postecoglou with plenty of options.
Tottenham are gaining a first-team player
Despite his young age, Robinson expects Gray to settle into the Tottenham team immediately due to his ability to play full-back.
“[The] Full-back area is an area that Tottenham were looking to strengthen,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“He plays at right back, he plays in midfield, he’s the all-round footballer and that will be a great asset for Tottenham.
“He’s not one that’s for the future, he’s not one coming in and is going to sit on the bench, he’s not one that’s coming in and going on loan.
“He’s coming in and he’s going to be involved in that starting XI, the initial squad.
“He will be in and around that starting XI without a shadow of a doubt.

“Once he gets his opportunity, Spurs fans will see what a player he is.
“It’s a really, really good bit of business by Tottenham to get a fantastic young talent at the age that he’s at now and the ability that he’s got to play different positions.”
