Archie Gray to Man City: Stefan Borson drops transfer verdict as ‘rumours’ emerge
Archie Gray has been linked with a move to Manchester City following a strong first season with Tottenham.
Spurs signed the 19-year-old, who can play in multiple positions in midfield or defence, for £30million from Leeds United last summer.
Man City were one of several Premier League sides interested in signing Gray before he agreed a six-year deal with Tottenham.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider he’s seen a rumour Pep Guardiola’s side are eyeing a move for Gray again this summer.
The teenager started in 35 of his 46 appearances for Tottenham last season, helping the club lift the Europa League trophy.
Their European success means Spurs will join Man City in the Champions League next season, with Thomas Frank now in charge after he replaced Ange Postecoglou.

Borson suggested Tottenham will be looking to sell some players this summer following Man City’s reported interest in signing Gray.
He told Football Insider: “Spurs will try and sell some players.
“Obviously, they’d like to sell Richarlison. I’m not sure how feasible that is.
“Then there are other players who are available. There has been rumours about some of the players that probably are a bit of a surprise.
“I did see a rumour about Archie Gray. I don’t know whether there’s anything in it.
“I do know that Manchester City did like the player last season and were close.
“Could that be resurrected? I don’t know.
“Then you’ve got the situation with Romero and Atletico Madrid, which could be £60-70million.”
Man City to accelerate James McAtee sale
In terms of a potential exit at the Etihad Stadium, Football Insider revealed on 14 July Man City are planning to sell James McAtee this summer.
Several Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are now considering moves for the 22-year-old as the race for his signature hots up.
It is understood McAtee could snub Premier League interest in favour of a move to Germany if he completes a move away from the Etihad.
