Rangers TV pundit: Arfield could quit Ibrox soon
Alan Hutton has suggested Scott Arfield may look to leave Rangers at the end of his contract next summer in search of first-team football.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender admitted the 32-year-old would want to play “week in, week out” at this stage of his career.
Arfield is into the final year of his contract at Ibrox, having signed a four-year deal when he joined in 2018.

He was Steven Gerrard’s first signing as Rangers manager.
However, he has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot this season.
His last start came in the second leg of the Europa League qualifier against Alashkert.
The Canada international has since made three substitute appearances totalling 23 minutes of game time.
Rangers TV pundit Hutton suggested Gerrard still sees Arfield as a “big game” player.
However, he admitted the midfielder may want more game time than what he is currently getting.
Asked if Arfield would be considering his future at Ibrox, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Of course. It’s something that he’s going to have to sit down and decide with his family and see where things are going.
“You’re at an age there where you want to play week in, week out. I know he’s had his issues with injury and stuff, for your own career, of course, you need to make that decision.
“The one thing I will say is, to me, when it comes down to big games, Steven Gerrard trusts him. He does play in these big moments, he gives you something different to most people.

“Those late runs, getting into the box, he gives you everything he’s got, in my opinion. When you watch him, you know the least you’re getting is 110 per cent which you must love as a manager to have that.
“I still think he’s got a lot to give. It’s whether he’s willing to be that player that’s kind of in and out. Or does he want to play week in, week out? He’s going to have to make that decision.”
In other news, Gerrard tipped to hold clear the air talks with senior Rangers star over potential Ibrox issue.
