Armando Broja: Pundit issues ‘guarantee’ amid ‘massive’ Arsenal verdict
Chelsea will command a “massive” fee for Arsenal striker target Armando Broja this summer, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the “brilliant” 20-year-old Southampton loanee could even forge his way into the Blues squad next season.
According to football.london (13 February), Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is an admirer of Broja and is monitoring the youngster ahead of the summer transfer window.
Football Insider first revealed last month (24 January) that West Ham were also planning to test the resolve of Chelsea with a bid for the Albanian during the winter window.
Broja has netted eight goals across all competitions for Southampton this term.
When asked if Chelsea will be reluctant to sell to a top-four rival, Whelan told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “Yeah, absolutely.
“With the performances he’s putting in, Chelsea may even look to keep him. He’s doing a brilliant job for Southampton.
“You send people out on loan to get a response. At the moment that response has been massively positive from the player.
“I’m sure Broja has not ruled out playing for Chelsea, and he’s playing for his career at the moment.
“Only Chelsea can decide whether he’s a player who can be useful to them in the future.
“But I can guarantee you now, even if they decide that he’s not. Chelsea will be asking for a massive price and clubs like Arsenal will have to pay it.”

In the summer of last year (2021), Broja signed a contract keeping him at Chelsea until 2026.
The 10-cap Albania international has made just one substitute appearance for the Stamford Bridge side.
