Arne Slot is a ‘lot better manager’ than Erik ten Hag – pundit

Liverpool’s next manager Arne Slot is a far better boss than Man United’s Erik ten Hag.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham, Leeds and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson claimed that the Feyenoord boss has proven himself over the Red Devils manager.

Slot is expected to take over from Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout this summer, with the Reds agreeing to pay Feyenoord almost £10million in compensation to bring him to Merseyside, sources have told Football Insider.

Slot’s Feyenoord are currently second in the Eredivisie table, with the club having lifted the Dutch Cup last month.

Incoming Liverpool boss much better than rival manager – Robinson

Ten Hag spent several years as Ajax manager before his move to Old Trafford, with the boss winning three league titles and two Dutch Cups during his tenure.

He has won the League Cup during his time in Manchester, but Football Insider understands he is under “massive pressure” in his current role.

“For me, he’s proven that he is a lot better manager than Ten Hag in the Dutch league,” he told the Inside Track podcast.

“But the Dutch league is considerably weaker than the Premier League. You only have to see what Ten Hag has done at Man United – or hasn’t done.

“The lack of recruitment there, and the team that he actually inherited at Ajax wasn’t his. When he did sign players, he left to go to Man United.

“He inherited a very good squad at Ajax, with the difference with Slot being that he has created a team at Feyenoord, has signed players, got them playing a certain way.

“I certainly don’t think he’s going to be Arne Ten Slot, put it that way, I think he’s going to be an improvement on Ten Hag.

“But it’s still a big jump from the Eredivisie to the Premier League, and he himself has got a lot to prove.

“But he seems the type of character that speaks very well in public, holds himself very well in press conferences, players speak very highly of him, and he talks in a way where you expect good things from him. But it’s a big test for him.”
