Arne Slot ‘negotiations on hold’ – Top source reacts to Liverpool latest
Liverpool are in the midst of a terrible run of form and manager Arne Slot cannot afford to let it continue.
The Reds have lost their last four games in the Premier League and have dropped seven points behind leaders Arsenal in the title race.
Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Brentford on Saturday (25 October) evening was the latest in a run of disappointing performances.
Slot must get his side performing quickly, in order to give them any chance of retaining their Premier League crown.

Arne Slot hasn’t got long at Liverpool
Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier exclusively told Football Insider that Slot should be given more time at Liverpool and has credit in the bank from last season.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – agrees with Le Tissier, but believes the Dutchman doesn’t have long to turn things around.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that if Liverpool’s poor Premier League form were to continue for another four games, then there would be real concern around Slot’s future.
Wyness added that the 47-year-old’s new contract at Anfield has very much been put on the back burner as a result of recent results.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We’ve been talking about Slot’s contract renegotiation and how those things can often slow down. Well, reports are coming out that negotiations have been put on hold.
“He will know himself, he’s not in a great position to negotiate a new contract at this moment. I think that’s as far as it would go though. I don’t think there’s any real pressure on him at the moment.
“If this bad form in the Premier League were to carry on for another four games, then I think we might see some sort of real concern. Look, there’s quality in that squad, and he’s got to get them firing.
“It’s not a terminal problem, and I think they can get it right, and you would expect them to turn it around. I don’t think there’s an issue. I think it’s a blip and I expect them, as I say, to start to get in some form.
“Those quality players do have to hit their stride, and if Salah can start to show some sort of form, that’s the way through it, I’m sure, for Slot.”
Liverpool eye centre-back signing in January
One of Slot’s big issues at the moment is the defence, with his side struggling to keep clean sheets.

Earlier this month, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool want to sign a new centre-back in January to help address the concerns.
There have been several names linked with a move to Anfield, including Marc Guehi, who almost join the Reds from Crystal Palace in the summer.
Liverpool are also reportedly interested in Ezri Konsa, but Aston Villa are reluctant to let the centre-back leave in January.
