Arsenal accelerate move to sign ‘unbelievable’ Premier League player ‘ready to explode’

Arsenal are accelerating plans to sign Eberechi Eze despite the addition of Noni Madueke, sources have told Football Insider.

On Friday (18 July), Madueke’s £52million switch to the Gunners was confirmed, with the winger leaving Chelsea to join their London rivals.

However, sources say that the signing of the 23-year-old does not mean that Mikel Arteta’s side have ended their interest in Crystal Palace star Eze.

Arsenal have more than enough funds available to complete the signings of Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera, as well as bringing in another major attacking option.

Arteta wants to bolster attacking depth

Last season, Arsenal finished ten points behind runaway title winners Liverpool, and they fell away dramatically in the second half of the campaign.

Many highlighted the lack of attacking depth as one of the reasons why the Gunners were unable to match Arne Slot’s side.

This summer, Arteta is desperate to bolster Arsenal’s forward ranks, and it seems that he is not content with just bringing in Madueke and Gyokeres.

The North London side could yet see another major signing before the window shuts, with Real Madrid star Rodrygo joining Eze on their shortlist.

Football Insider pundit Paul Robinson is in no doubt about Eze’s quality:

“He is an unbelievable player who goes past players at will and changes games in an instant. He had some ups and downs last season but finished the season brilliantly and led Crystal Palace to their FA win.

“Would he get the same freedom at Arsenal like he does at Palace? Probably not. But he would add a new dimension to the Arsenal attack and give them a player who can create from central areas. He’s ready for a move and ready to explode.”

Arsenal learn Xavi Simons price tag

Meanwhile, Xavi Simons will cost Premier League clubs in excess of £60million this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Simons, 22, has informed RB Leipzig of his desire to leave, and both Chelsea and Arsenal are considering an approach for the Dutchman.

Sources say that the winger would prefer a move to the Premier League, despite interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The Netherlands international only completed his permanent switch to Leipzig in January but is already pushing for a move away.
