Mesut Ozil advised 20-year-old ace to join Manchester City, claimed coaching will develop him

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has revealed he advised Manchester City winger Leroy Sane to move to the Premier League.

Sane, who is regarded as one of the top young talents in world football, made a £37million switch from German side Schalke to Guardiola’s City earlier this month.

Guardiola hailed Sane as a “special talent” after he helped his former club to fifth in the Bundesliga last season, scoring eight goals in 33 appearances last season.

Ozil advised his Germany international colleague to move to City for the good of his career.

“Naturally, the Premier League was a topic we discussed several times,” Ozil told German publication Spox. “I told Leroy that I regard it as the best league in the world and that young players can develop well there.”

“That is why I was happy for him when the transfer materialised. He will improve a lot under Pep Guardiola.”

Sane is a versatile midfielder, who can operate on the wings as he hopes to emulate the talents of his 25-year-old German compatriot in Ozil in the Premier League.

The Arsenal playmaker topped the assists charts last season with 19, as Sane hopes to make a similar impact in the coming years for the blue side of Manchester.

Manchester City and Arsenal will meet for their first anticipated fixture of the season on December 17th at the Etihad, with the reverse fixture on April 1st.

In other Arsenal transfer news, manager Arsene Wenger reveals if their new defender signing will arrive at the club before Sunday.
