Finance guru issues 'huge' Arsenal claim as 'superstar' duo sign

The Arsenal brand will reach “huge” new audiences thanks to their new partnership with Prime.

That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ deal with the sports hydration drinks company.

Arsenal announced last Wednesday (27 July) that YouTube celebrities and Prime co-founders KSI and Logan Paul had signed off on a sponsorship deal with the club.

The pair collectively have close to 50million subscribers on the video platform and have in recent years branched out into celebrity boxing.

KSI, a lifelong Arsenal fan, claimed that the partnership was a “childhood dream” come true.

Plumley explained the marketing benefits of the new tie-in with Prime, which is now on offer at the Emirates on matchdays.

“It can only help to have those associations,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

“You’re going to generate huge brand exposure if you partner with these companies that are associated with superstars in other spaces.

“We know there are links to boxing and other entertainment industries. For a club like Arsenal, who are very much one of the biggest clubs in the country, little things like this can help.

“They are already well set and this won’t shift the dial too much, but the extra exposure will definitely be beneficial.”

Arsenal beat Sevilla 6-0 in the final pre-season match last Saturday (30 July).

They begin their 2022-23 Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on Friday (5 August).
