‘Arsenal backed to beat Tottenham to Eberechi Eze deal – that would be exciting’
Eberechi Eze could be at the centre of a huge transfer fight between Arsenal and Tottenham this summer after starring for Crystal Palace in recent years.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (30 June) that the Gunners have enquired about the availability of the England international, who has a £68million release clause in his Palace contract.
Meanwhile, Spurs have also been heavily linked and are weighing up a potential move for the attacking midfielder.
Eze has broken into the England squad and scored the winner against Man City in the FA Cup final in May, making history for Crystal Palace.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted there is one “compelling” option available for the 27-year-old this summer.

Eze move is ‘very exciting’ for Arsenal, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted Eze teaming up with Bukayo Saka to feed a new striker at Arsenal is the most attractive option.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have finished runners-up in the Premier League three seasons in a row.
Wyness suggested Eze suits a move to the “flair-driven group” at Arsenal.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Eze is going to end up with Arsenal, in my opinion.
“I think that suits him as well, that would be a very exciting move for Arsenal.
“With Saka as well, that would be an interesting, really flair-driven group.
“Arsenal want to have that, provided they get that striker to service – then I think that would be a very compelling situation for Eze.
“Thomas Frank’s building a project in Spurs, I think he would be well served there – but I do believe he’s going to end up at Arsenal.”

Sesko sets stance on Arsenal move
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (26 June) that Benjamin Sesko wants to join Arsenal this summer and the potential move is not being held up by his representatives.
The RB Leipzig star is one of multiple striker options under consideration, with Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike also on the shortlist.
Sources have told Football Insider that recent reports suggesting Sesko’s wage demands are too high for Arsenal are “nonsense”.
The 22-year-old’s move is not being held up by any issues on the player’s side as talks continue between the clubs and with the highly-rated striker.
