Arsenal backed to complete Leandro Trossard signing after latest report – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Leandro Trossard would be a great fit for Arsenal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back is “not surprised” top clubs are interested in the 27-year-old following his impressive start to the season.

According to the Daily Mail (18 October), the Gunners are admirers of the winger and are believed to be in the running to sign him next year.

According to the Mirror (15 October), they face competition from London rivals Chelsea as well as La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

The Belgium international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the AMEX Stadium but the club have the option of a further year.

Hutton suggested Arsenal would be a good destination for Trossard.

He has had a good season so far for Brighton,” he told Football Insider.

I think he is definitely that type of profile that Arsenal look at. He likes to drive forward with the ball, can make things happen, score a goal. He can probably play multiple positions.

I am not really surprised after the season that he has had that people are looking at him. It will be an interesting one.

As long as Trossard can keep his performances to a high level I am sure there will be others monitoring his situation.
