Arsenal are interested in signing Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almirón, according to a report.
Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato reports that the Gunners are keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old’s progression in the Major Soccer League.
The report claims that the midfielder is currently rated between £13million and £17million.
The North London club are set to face stiff competition for the youngster’s signature as European giants Inter Milan have reportedly also been keeping tabs on him.
The Paraguay international is usually deployed as an attacking midfielder and he has demonstrated that he is very dangerous in the final third and he usually finds himself on the scoresheet.

Almirón completed a permanent move to the US in January and he has been one of the standout performers, contributing with nine goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.
The Paraguayan’s performances have guided Atalanta into third place in their debut campaign as a franchise club in the league.
The midfielder is set to feature when Atalanta face a tough away trip to New York Red Bulls next weekend.
Football Insider verdict
Although Almirón has the potential to be a fine addition to the Premier League, Arsenal shouldn’t prioritise a player like him. The Gunners already possess a number of attack-minded midfielders who have the ability to create and score goals, but they are missing a player who can improve them as a defensive unit. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger needs to concentrate on improving the spine of his team before focusing on signing more players who solely offer a threat in the attacking third. With Inter Milan also interested, it might be a tough task to persuade him to the move to the Emirates Stadium but with Mesut Ozil potentially leaving at the end of the season, signing Almirón might soften the blow.
