Arsenal chief plans to move matches away from Emirates – Kieran Maguire
Arsenal chief Stan Kroenke will want Premier League games to be hosted in the United States to help maximise ticket sales and earnings.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that he expects American owners to push for overseas Premier League fixtures.
La Liga president Javier Tebas stated this week that the Spanish league is hopeful of playing competitive fixtures overseas in the United States from the 2025-26 season onwards.
Premier League CEO Richard Masters claimed that overseas fixtures are not in his “current plans” but admitted that the “door is ajar” for fixtures in the United States in the future.
The Premier League have actively taken steps to increase their presence in the US over the past year by introducing the Summer Series pre-season tournament and multiple new fan zones.
Arsenal owner will push for overseas US Premier League matches
Maguire explained that Arsenal chairman Kroenke will be an advocate of Premier League matches being played overseas.
“There’s no doubt that owners of clubs, especially American owners such as Stan Kroenke, will take the view that matches at the Emirates are not maximising potential revenues,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“It doesn’t maximise earnings from ticket sales as many seats are taken by season ticket holders, who owners feel get their tickets far too cheap.

“So they will use this opportunity to copy La Liga and also use La Liga going to the US as an excuse that the Premier League has no alternative.
“I expect this to be the cry and mantra from the American owners in the Premier League.“
