Arsenal could land £120m payout after club record smashed
Arsenal could increase their shirt and merchandise sales to around £120million after signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners signed the Sweden international in a £64million deal from Sporting Lisbon last month.
The Athletic reported on 29 July shirt sales for Gyokeres have already broken the club’s previous record for a signing in recent history.
The 27-year-old will wear the number 14 jersey, which was previously worn by fan favourite and record goalscorer Thierry Henry.
Uefa documents revealed Arsenal raked in £101million from shirt and merchandise sales in the 2023-24 season.
They ranked sixth in the world, with Real Madrid topping the charts with earnings of £165million.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester United were joint-fourth on the list after they each banked £123million.
Sources say Arsenal could improve their figure to around £120million for 2025-26 after making multiple new additions alongside Gyokeres.
The north London giants have also signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera to take their overall spending to around £200million.
Arsenal smash club record after £600m+ reveal
Arsenal have been making efforts to increase their commercial revenue in recent years, with their current kit manufacturer deal with Adidas worth £75million a year.
The Gunners posted a club-record revenue in 2023-24 after their turnover surged from £466.7million to £616.6million.
That was driven by their return to the Champions League and a significant uplift in commercial income, which increased from £169.3million to £218.3million.
Mikel Arteta’s side are now gearing up for the new Premier League campaign as they look to compete for the title again.
After returning from their lucrative pre-season tour of Asia, Arsenal will face La Liga sides Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao in their final friendly matches at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners will then head to Old Trafford to take on Man United in their season-opener on 17 August.

In terms of a potential exit at the Emirates, recruitment expert Mick Brown told Football Insider Arsenal are planning to accept Gabriel Jesus offers heading into the final weeks of the transfer window.
Gyokeres’ arrival has seen the Brazil international drop down the pecking order in north London.
The 28-year-old missed the second half of last season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
