Arsenal could land huge deal after Stan Kroenke reveal – sources
Arsenal have a “fascinating” opportunity to tap into the US market through their owner Stan Kroenke’s sporting links, sources have told Football Insider.
The CLV Group CEO Neil Joyce exclusively revealed to Football Insider the American billionaire’s ownership of NFL franchise the LA Rams presents collaborative opportunities for the London giants to capitalise on.
Kroenke first became an Arsenal shareholder in 2007 before later completing a full takeover of the club in 2018.
While the 77-year-old has received some criticism during his time at the Emirates, there has been a period of calm over the past couple of years following an upturn in on-field results.
The LA Rams have also enjoyed recent success after making the Super Bowl twice over the past five years, having lost to the New England Patriots in 2019 and beat the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.
Arsenal and the Rams have taken part in co-marketing opportunities in recent years, with some of the star players exchanging shirts and putting on coaching clinics for American children together.
But Joyce told Football Insider there is an interesting opportunity for the Premier League side to collaborate further with the NFL team as they look to increase their US fanbase.
The Rams have more than 5.6 million followers on social media, while more than 70,000 fans watch their games at the SoFi Stadium.
Arsenal could capitalise on Stan Kroenke links to grow US fanbase
The CLV Group estimates there to be up to £860million on offer to European clubs in additional revenue ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico.
There are also believed to be 36.5 million football fans across the US who are undecided about which European team they want to support.
Joyce told Football Insider American football is the second-most popular sport for US football fans behind basketball, presenting Arsenal with an opportunity to capitalise on their links with the Rams to help grow their fanbase.
Mikel Arteta’s side went on a pre-season tour in the US over the summer, where they faced Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool.
The game against Man United was played at the SoFi Stadium, with Arsenal coming from behind to win 2-1 following goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.
In other news, Arsenal plan to sign Martin Odegaard alternative in January.
