Arsenal could sign their very own Erling Haaland as Mikel Arteta tracks ‘amazing’ striker
Arsenal’s quest to win the Premier League title could be accelerated with some January transfer business.
The Gunners are sitting pretty at the top of the table after nine matches, with four points separating them from second-place Bournemouth.
On Wednesday (October 29), Arsenal beat Brighton 2-0 to book their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Crystal Palace as Max Dowman made history, becoming the club’s youngest ever starter.
Dowman even completed the most attempted dribbles against Brighton, displaying what an incredible player he is at just 15-years-old.
On the other hand, Viktor Gyokeres has struggled at Arsenal since completing his move to Sporting Lisbon, and he could soon have competition for his striker spot.

Arsenal want to sign Levante’s Karl Etta Eyong
Gyokeres has only bagged three goals in nine Premier League appearances since switching to the Emirates, and two of those came in a mauling of Leeds United.
With Kai Havertz closing in on a return after injury and the Gunners eyeing another striker in January, the Swede’s starting place could soon come under pressure.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all keen to sign Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong alongside Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Etta Eyong is one of La Liga’s most clinical finishers, having plundered six goals and supplied three assists in 10 appearances this term.
Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old’s ruthless edge has caught the eye of many big clubs and Arsenal will be pleased to see one comparison.
Etta Eyong is similar to Erling Haaland
Etta Eyong has been dubbed ‘amazing’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig after his incredible start to the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Cameroon international is statistically similar to Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland.

That is according to FBref, who rank Etta Eyong closest to Haaland stats-wise than any other player.
In the past year, the Levante hitman has placed in the top five per cent of strikers across Europe for non-penalty goals per 90 (0.75) and the top three per cent for assists (0.32).
Encouragingly, Etta Eyong is also known for his exceptional speed, positional intelligence and his finishing ability, which explains comparisons to Haaland.
Haaland scored against Arsenal earlier this season at the Emirates, and Gunners supporters will be hoping they can sign their very own version of the Norwegian.
