Arsenal fans turn against Wenger on Twitter after Bayern Munich thrashing

By Danny Wright

Arsenal fans are calling for Arsene Wenger to quit the club at the end of the season following Wednesday night’s humiliating defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The scores were level at 1-1 at half time but the Gunners rolled over in the second half, allowing the German club to hit four more goals past them, leaving them with a mountain to climb in the second leg.

No club in the Champions League knock-out rounds has ever overturned a four goal deficit to win and if Arsenal fail to do so, it will be the seventh year in a row they have bowed out of the competition in the Round of 16.

Wenger has been criticised by a small section of fans over the past few years after the club has failed to deliver the Premier League title they want.

Arsenal are without a league title since 2004 and have only won the FA Cup since – three times in 2004/05, 2013/14 and 2014/15.

However, Wednesday night’s capitulation appears to have turned a lot more Arsenal fans against their manager of over 20 years.

More fans are now calling for the 67-year-old to step down at the end of the season with his head held high.
