Arsenal fans explode at ‘corrupt’ Michael Oliver after ‘terrible’ call v Chelsea

Arsenal fans have been left fuming at referee Michael Oliver after his treatment of Kai Havertz during the clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel Arteta’s side secured a 1-1 draw away from home after goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Pedro Neto, meaning they have now won just one of their last six.

However, it was the referee who attracted the attention of the travelling supporters when he booked Havertz for failing to leave the pitch to receive treatment.

The 25-year-old had blood gushing from his head and went down to receive treatment, before Oliver told him to leave the field and handed him a yellow card for not doing so promptly.

This left the Arsenal fans raging as they questioned how their player could be booked for having a head injury – an issue which usually sees the game stopped for treatment to take place.

Chants of “it’s all about you” could be heard from the away end as the supporters made their voices heard about the official’s performance.

Arsenal fans can’t believe what ‘disgrace’ Michael Oliver did v Chelsea

Havertz was at the centre of plenty of controversy during the visit to his former club, as Chelsea fans were left raging by his taunt towards them after finding the net, before the goal was disallowed.

Arsenal fans have not been shy of criticising the officials so far this season, with a number of questionable decisions seemingly going against them.

Now, it was Oliver’s turn to be questioned by the Gunners, as many took to social media during the game to label him a “clown” and “a disgrace”.
