Arsenal fans explode at ‘disgrace’ Martin Odegaard after what he did v Liverpool

Arsenal fans have been left raging at Martin Odegaard after his performance in their Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta’s side fought to secure a 2-2 draw on the road, with just 87 seconds separating two first-half goals from Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

Gabriel Martinelli found the net shortly after half-time to kickstart an Arsenal resurgence, before Mikel Merino scored the equaliser in the 70th minute.

The defeat meant Arsenal have been dragged into a battle for Champions League qualification, leading to growing frustrations about their recent league form.

Many of those frustrations were directed at the captain after what has been labelled a “horrible” display, extending his dismal run of recent performances.

This comes after Football Insider revealed Arteta is considering axing Odegaard in favour of 18-year-old Ethan Nwaneri in the closing stages of the seaosn.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Arsenal staff are concerned about Odegaard’s recovery from an earlier injury blow.

A two-month injury layoff with an ankle issue between September and November is believed to have caused him further issues which have contributed to wards his dip in form.

There have been suggestions that the 26-year-old is still feeling the effects of the blow, which have alerted some behind the scenes at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider in September that Arsenal want to sign an alternative to Odegaard given their lack of strength in depth behind the midfielder.
