Arsenal fans fume at Jamie Carragher after his shock claim live on air
Arsenal fans were left furious with Jamie Carragher after he surprisingly claimed that Mikel Arteta’s management style is morphing into that of Jose Mourinho.
The Gunners shared the points with Liverpool on Sunday (27 October) after a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the lead before Virgil van Dijk equalised, while Mikel Merino put Arteta’s men back ahead until Mohamed Salah scored in the 81st minute.
However, Carragher felt that the Londoners ended up playing defensively towards the end of the game which led to his Mourinho comparison.
The Liverpool legend said on Sky Sports: “Mikel Arteta is slowly morphing into a Jose Mourinho-type of manager, and nobody really thought that would happen.”
Many fans and pundits initially expected Arteta to play a similar style to Pep Guardiola after his experience working under him at Man City, but Carragher doesn’t believe he’s doing that.

Carragher’s comments came after he was giving his analysis on Arsenal’s latest game, but it’s something that many fans felt was “lazy” and “clickbait.”
Supporters have branded him a clown while others have stated the idea of Arteta’s coaching style being like Mourinho is “nonsense.”
