Arsenal fans fume at referee as Leicester City footage analysed

Arsenal fans were furious with matchday official Samuel Barrott for not punishing Oliver Skipp for a challenge he made during the first half of their recent outing.

The Gunners drew level with Man City in the Premier League table by defeating Leicester City 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium, but supporters felt the Foxes should have played the majority of the game with 10 men.

Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard were enough to give Mikel Arteta’s team the lead in the first half, but the visitors pulled it back to 2-2 until Trossard scored a 94th-minute winner as Kai Havertz rounded it off in the 99th.

But Arsenal fans believed Skipp should have been sent off in the first half, not just for a poor tackle but for kicking the ball away.

The Gunners have been punished twice this season by their players kicking the ball away, which led to Declan Rice and Trossard being sent off in previous games.

The frustration at that rule not being implemented was clear among fans who were vocal about the situation.

Arsenal fans believe they are being judged differently

Arsenal supporters have made their feelings about the Premier League officiating throughout this season clear, and that continued during the game against Leicester.

Gunners fans believe their players would have been judged differently if they were in Skipp’s boots.
