Kieran Maguire: Arsenal fans now have a voice in the boardroom as Tim Lewis news emerges
Arsenal fans will be delighted that born-and-bred Gooner Tim Lewis appears set to expand his influence in the boardroom.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest changes behind the scenes at the Emirates.
Lewis is a corporate lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions.

He first joined the club as a non-executive director in 2020 and has since juggled the position with his work as a partner at law firm Clifford Chance.
But per The Athletic reported on Monday (3 October) that Lewis, who has previously been tasked with restructuring the club’s debt, has resigned from Clifford Chance in order to place greater emphasis on his role at Arsenal.
Maguire explained why Lewis’ expanded role in North London is good news for supporters.
“Tim Lewis is an Arsenal fan as well as a very experienced corporate lawyer,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“He will be able to bring to the table at board level a variety of skills.
“First of all, he has an understanding of the legal framework and how it impacts big clubs such as Arsenal given the unique nature of football.

“Secondly, he will also be able to articulate in a manner that is more acceptable at board level than what we sometimes see on social media the relative lack of progress on the pitch.
“Hopefully, that has been rectified this season as we have seen to date.”
