Arsenal fans were in awe of Martin Odegaard’s “iconic” performance in their Champions League victory over Porto on Tuesday (12 March).
The Gunners won 1-0 on the night to level the score on aggregate before winning the penalty shootout to secure their place in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.
While the whole Arsenal side were impressive in their own right, supporters quickly pointed to Odegaard as the highlight of the crucial clash.
His pinpoint defence-splitting assist for Leandro Trossard’s 41st-minute opener was deemed “world-class”, but he dazzled across the 120 minutes of action with incredible skill and flair in a true captain’s performance.

The 25-year-old also struck home Arsenal’s first penalty in the tense shoot-out, which they would go on to win 4-2 thanks to subsequent goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.
