Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Olivier Giroud will not make his return from injury for the Gunners trip to Burnley on Sunday – and fans have had a mixed reaction to the news on Twitter.
Giroud, 30, has been out of action with a toe injury and is not expected to be back until mid-October.
The north London club have successfully replaced the French forward with Alexis Sanchez in his absence and are likely to employ the same tactic at Turf Moor this weekend.
Some supporters on social media were saddened by Giroud’s delayed return while others claimed he should be binned from the team.

The former Montpellier forward has played just four times for the Gunners this season, failing to score a goal and providing just one assist.
Arsenal have enjoyed a strong start to the season though, picking up 13 points from their first six games.
Wenger will be hoping his side can collect their fifth win in five games outings on Sunday and guide his side up the table.
In other Arsenal news, Gunners fans were delighted on Twitter with winger Theo Walcott after his performance against Basel on Wednesday evening.
