Arsenal fans react on Twitter to report Wenger is planning to stay

By Matt Bullin

Arsenal fans have taken to twitter to voice their opinions on Arsene Wenger’s reported decision to stay at the Emirates.

With Wenger’s current contract up at the end of the season, Arsenal’s board have offered him a new two-year deal, which he has been considering.

However, this season hasn’t been a good one. The Gunners are currently sixth in the Premier League, having suffered four losses in their last five league games.

Then there was the humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich, which saw Wenger’s men exit the Champions League at the last-16 stage for the seventh successive season.

During Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to West Brom on Saturday both ‘Wenger In’ and ‘Wenger Out’ advocates made their voices heard by flying planes over the Hawthorns displaying banners reflecting their thoughts.

After the game the Frenchman hinted that he had already decided his future and that he would tell all soon.

The Telegraph then reported on Sunday night that Wenger will sign the two-year contract extension offered to him by the Arsenal board.

This news has sparked some strong and contrasting opinions from the Arsenal faithful – here’s a selection of their tweets:

Whichever way Wenger decides to go ultimately this story will drag on and on, but one thing’s for sure – he can’t please all of the Arsenal fans.
