Arsenal fans react on Twitter as £30million signing left on bench v Liverpool

Arsene Wenger has left summer signing Granit Xhaka on the bench against Liverpool which has caused a fierce reaction from supporters on Twitter.

Senior pair Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin will start the game in the midfield for the Gunners, meaning the £30million signing Xhaka will have to wait to make his Premier League debut.

Arsenal supporters have expressed their anger on Twitter as the marquee summer signing has been left out of the starting 11.

The former Borussia Mochengladbach midfielder joined in June for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million, after starring in Switzerland’s Euro 2016 campaign.

Xhaka was integral to the Gladbach side that qualified for their debut Champions League appearance last season, making an impressive 140 appearances in four years with the Bundesliga outfit.

The 23-year-old moved to Galdbach in 2012 for £6.75million and developed into one of the Bundesliga’s outstanding midfielders.

Arsenal played out two draws with Liverpool last season as the clubs could not be separated in their two league meetings, but will be hoping to get off to a winning start at the Emirates this campaign.
