Arsenal duo Francis Coquelin and Lucas Perez have returned to full training – and fans were delighted on Twitter.
The Mirror reported that the two senior players have taken part in a few training sessions ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Swansea City.
The duo are hoping to be in contention for the clash on Saturday, especially Coquelin, who has been absent since picking up an injury last month.
Arsenal’s midfielder suffered a knee injury in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Chelsea but it wasn’t as serious as initially feared.
Perez’ injury was picked up in training prior to the international break and the summer signing had to sit out the clash against Burnley.
The striker has only made two appearances this season and will be hoping to return to full fitness soon in order to fight for a place in Wenger’s starting XI.
Coquelin has been an important figure in the Arsenal team for some time now and started five out of the first six Premier League games before he was side-lined.
In his absence, Granit Xhaka has excelled alongside Santi Cazorla so the Frenchman may struggle to make the starting XI.
Coquelin is a favourite among supporters, who are also eager to see more of Perez in action.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the news on Twitter:
