Arsenal fans thrilled by ‘huge news’ as star ‘rejects Liverpool’ to ‘agree deal’
Arsenal fans are buzzing after it has been reported that the club will sign former Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi in the summer.
The Daily Mail revealed that the Gunners are set to land the 25-year-old from Real Sociedad at the end of the season as they will beat off both Liverpool and Man City to his signature.
The defensive midfielder came close to moving to Anfield last summer, but the Spain international opted to remain in Spain for another season.
The Gunners have been interested in Zubimendi for the last year, and he could work as a replacement for Thomas Partey and Jorginho who are both out of contract at the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Mikel Arteta played a key role in convincing the midfielder to move to the Emirates Stadium as he previously did with Declan Rice.
Zubimendi is currently in advanced talks with the club and is expected to move to England in July of this year.
