Arsenal fitness boost as star to make comeback against Swansea - report

By Tony Hughes

Lucas Perez will be fit to play for Arsenal in their Premier League clash against Swansea on Saturday of next week, according to a report.

IB Times UK claim the former Deportivo de La Coruna man is back in training and will be available for selection against the Welsh side for the fixture at Emirates Stadium.

Perez missed Arsenal 1-0 win at Burnley last weekend due to a swollen knee as he joined fellow striker Olivier Giroud on the sidelines.

The Spaniard joined the Gunners in August for a fee of £17.5million, but has only played 154 minutes for Wenger’s side so far.

Perez opened his Arsenal account with a double in their 4-0 win at Nottingham Forest in EFL Cup’s third round last month after making his only other start in a 2-1 Premier League triumph over Southampton.

He has been forced to play second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez, who has been used as the Arsenal spearhead for the opening two months of he season.

The Chilean forward has responded to the new role with a string of outstanding displays, and has scored five goals and supplied five assists from his nine matches for the club this season.

In other Arsenal team news, Laurent Koscielny has claimed this Gunners striker will find it hard to get back in the team.
