Arsenal get fitness blow ahead of FA Cup semi-final with Man City – report

By Matt Bullin

Arsenal have been handed a blow ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final as Gabriel Jesus has returned to training for Man City, according to a report.

The Metro claims that the Brazilian returned to training this week ahead of the match, after suffering a foot injury which threatened to end his season in February.

And the news was seemingly confirmed in a short video clip on Manchester City’s official Twitter page.

Arsenal face Pep Guardiola’s side in a match which could have huge implications for both side’s top four chances – as well as their last hope of silverware for the season.

Gunners fans will be hoping that Jesus is not fit to face their side on Sunday – the 20-year-old scored three goals in five games after his Man City debut, and his strong form was enough to push Aguero back to the bench.

Arsenal have stopped the rot which had taken over the side in recent weeks last time out, beating Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside – but it was only their third win in nine Premier League games.

Key pair Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both netted as the Gunners kept their faint hopes of a top-four finish alive.

They currently sit in sixth place, seven points behind City and fourth, although the Gunners do have a game in hand.
