Arsenal icon Mesut Ozil sends message to Viktor Gyokeres after clause reveal
Arsenal legend Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to give Viktor Gyokeres his seal of approval after his impressive display in Sporting’s 4-1 win over Man City on Tuesday (November 5).
The 25-year-old bagged a hattrick, including two penalties, as the Portuguese champions inflicted the third consecutive defeat upon Man City for the first time since 2018.
With 23 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, Gyokeres has become a hot topic amongst Europe’s elite.
According to The Telegraph, the Sweden international will have a release clause of just £63million once the summer transfer window rolls around.
Arsenal are one of several clubs who are interested in the striker but will face stiff competition from the likes of Man United and Chelsea for his signature.

Mikel Arteta’s side have struggled in front of goal so far this season, scoring just twice in their last three games, falling out of the Champions League spots.
Without an out-and-out number nine, the North London club could do with a clinical striker like Gyokeres, who appears to have a big fan in former playmaker Ozil, 36.
During his distinguished career, Ozil had become a master of hitting the ball into the ground when one-on-one with the goalkeeper, taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to send a cheeky message to Gyokeres.
After a disappointing 1-0 Champions League defeat to Inter Milan on Wednesday (November 6) Arsenal are in danger of letting their season fizzle out before the new year.
They will turn their attention back to the Premier League on Sunday as they prepare to face London rivals Chelsea on Sunday (November 10).
