Arsenal idol hits back over Ralf Rangnick ‘sour grapes’ as Man United controversy analysed
Man United manager Ralf Rangnick’s comments after the loss to Arsenal were a case of “sour grapes”, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted both side’s could feel wronged by the officiating at the Emirates.
The Red Devils’ hopes of finishing in the top four all but ended on Saturday after a 3-1 loss at Arsenal.
Speaking to BT Sport (23 April), Ralf Rangnick contested numerous decision made on the day and said Arsenal’s third goal was “clearly offside.”
Granit Xhaka scored Mikel Arteta’s side’s third goal from long range, with David de Gea perhaps unsighted by Eddie Nketiah, who was standing in an offside position.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if Rangnick had grounds to feel hard done by, Campbell said: “It’s funny how he doesn’t mention the other incidents.
“At the end of the day, it was full of controversy. It was action-packed.
“Arsenal could talk about numerous tackles. You have to let these things go sometimes. They can go for you and they can go against you.

“Let’s be honest, Victor Lindelof was in De Gea’s way as well. You are not going to get them all. De Gea was never going to save that strike, that is what I know for certain.
“It sounds like sour grapes from Rangnick to me, even though I understand what he’s saying.”
