Arsenal idol in awe of Ramsdale after 'incredible' reveal from Arteta

Aaron Ramsdale has made a “huge difference” for Arsenal this season, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said “you will struggle to see a better goalkeeping performance” than the 23-year-old’s against Leicester City on Saturday.

Ramsdale produced a man of the match display at the King Power Stadium to help Arsenal to a 2-0 win.

As quoted by Football.London (October 30th), Mikel Arteta hailed the summer signing’s performance as “incredible”.

According to OptaJoe, only Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy (89.7 per cent) has a higher save percentage than the England international (85.7 per cent).

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Ramsdale’s form, Campbell said:

“You will struggle to see a better goalkeeping performance all season, if I’m honest with you.

“I don’t just mean his saves, I mean his all-round play. His handling, distribution and organisation was outstanding. He is a player at the top of his game at the moment.

“There is no doubt about it, he’s made a huge difference to that side.

“The defence was good against Leicester. But, Ramsdale was needed on numerous occasions and he was just unbeatable on the day. It is great to see him progress like this.”

Speaking after the win, Arteta said: “Aaron has had some really encouraging performances.

“Today he made some incredible saves to help the team maintain the clean sheet.”
