Arsenal idol verdict on Bukayo Saka’s future as rivals table forward £78m deal
Kevin Campbell has backed Bukayo Saka to sign a contract offer worth £200,000-a-week from Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said “it should not matter” that the 21-year-old is set to earn less than Phil Foden.
Saka‘s contract at the Emirates runs until the end of June 2024.

Sources have told Football Insider (5 October) that the winger has reached an agreement in principle with the London club over a new long-term deal.
It is believed that the deal will be worth £52million over the course of five years.
Saka’s international teammate Phil Foden is set to put pen to paper on a deal worth £78million over six years at Man City.
When asked by Football Insider if Saka deserved to have parity with Foden, Campbell said: “You have to look at the value the player brings to the football club.
“Saka has been player of the season for the past two years. It is ridiculous what this man has achieved at such a young age.
“He needs to help Arsenal win silverware. That is what will take him up to the real heights.
“Perhaps that is why Phil Foden is worth that little bit more. He has proven that over the past few years. He has won a lot of trophies.

“There is not a lot of difference between the two contracts though, let’s be honest. It shouldn’t matter that it is a bit less than a Foden.
“Saka is not the best paid player at Arsenal right now. He deserves to be up there with the top guys.”
