Arsenal in talks to agree Leandro Trossard deal – sources

Arsenal have been trying to tie Leandro Trossard down to a new long-term deal at the football club, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that “talks are ongoing” between the club and the 29-year-old.

There has been interest in the Belgium international from Saudi Arabia recently, which is one of the reasons the Gunners are keen to extend his contract.

Football Insider revealed that Al-Ittihad made a last-gasp bid of around £30million to sign Trossard on deadline day, but Arsenal rejected it as they have no intentions of selling him.

West Ham United are also monitoring Trossard, but well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the player wouldn’t be interested in making that move.

Trossard is seen as a key player at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal looking to add further attacking options rather than lose any.

Leandro Trossard has become an important figure at Arsenal

Trossard has played in all 11 of Arsenal’s Premier League games and their four Champions League group stage fixtures this season.

The Belgian has scored two goals and provided one assist but hasn’t nailed down a consistent starting spot in the team and has often been used as a substitute.

Trossard’s current contract at Arsenal expires in June 2026, but the Premier League giants are keen for that to be extended.
